I conducted this research doing my feminist research and action course my sophomore year. We were learning about different feminist research studies and then we're told to apply them by conducting original research. My research partner and I handed out surveys and held focus groups to determine notions and ideas on what it means to be a good mother and whether the kind of sexual and reproductive education one receives impacts their perception of motherhood. We composed a literature review synthesizing information that was currently out there on motherhood studies as well as the impact that sexual reproductive education may have on motherhood. We received IRB approval. I have not yet presented this research however I am in the process of pursuing presentation opportunities.
